York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management provides a comprehensive range of facilities and estates services to healthcare providers throughout York and North Yorkshire.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we have strong links to, and knowledge of, NHS organisations, as well as working in partnership with other public bodies and private partners.

Our annual turnover is C£70M. We cover eight hospital sites (York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Malton, Selby, Easingwold and two rehabilitation units, White Cross Court and Nelsons Court) and have a workforce of just over 1,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community. Our work ensures that facilities, projects and contracts are managed efficiently, correctly, on time and on budget.

Estates

With a long tradition of managing and maintaining NHS properties, our teams are well equipped to manage buildings old and new, organising repairs and maintenance and project managing building and renovations. Our team has been involved in the creation of cutting-edge new builds as well as providing innovative solutions in challenging environments.

Facilities

Facilities management services include cleaning, catering, security, gardening and industrial and environmental services. We also provide support services which include reception, switchboard, porters, helpdesk, and car parking.

Our catering team prepares and cooks thousands of fresh, high quality hospital meals each day for patients and staff at our hospital sites. Our York facility has a leading-edge, purpose built kitchen.

Medical Engineering

Our medical engineering team has many years’ experience in servicing a wide range of medical equipment to the highest industry standards. We provide support, maintenance and repair for all types of equipment for laboratories, health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry.

Resources

The Resources division manages the contract between YTHFM and the York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust for finance and risk Management, Human Resources & OD, Marketing Communications, Health & Safety, Occupational Health, and Procurement.  The team also delivers Security, Car Parking & ID, Transport, Reception, Switchboard, Print services, Governance Secretarial support and Commercial services.
